It Is a Start

Emotionally constipated
At times is overrated
I’m simply complicated
No, actually, I’m somewhat jaded
A life that takes its turns
At times has left its burns
But, yet I seem to climb
This mountain of borrowed time
Saved from eternal fire
My soul I now admire
Thanks to amazing grace
I now can see his face
For years I traveled hard
And many left me scarred
But, I still shine quite bright
Throughout the blackest nights.
