It Hurts

It hurts to give your heart to someone you love
And not to receive it in return
It hurts to give all your love, And not to get it back
It hurts just to want a kiss, And not to be kissed back
It hurts to want romance, and all you get is divorce
It’s hard to get a cuddle, when seated on different chairs
It hurts to feel in the present but only be in the past
It hurts I want to give so much, Even though I’m given so little
It’s hard to go to bed at night, And even worse to sleep alone
It hurts to smell your sweet perfume, but yet so far away on the next pillow
It also hurts to know that time and lives are both so short
And even harder to know that my love for you it hurts
