It Happened On a Cold Winter Day
It happened on a cold winter day
Who knew it would turn out this way
A familiar face in that unfamiliar place
You asked for my number "just in case"
You gave me comfort even then
That bright smile reeled me right in
This is how it all began
When I look back and wonder why
I'm so happy I want to cry
You came to me when I least expected
At a time when my heart needed to be protected
Who knew you needed me as I did you
Your heart was broken and needed healing too
Through shared pain our love grew
It happened on a cold winter day
Who knew I would fall in love this way
I fell for you when I least expected
Now my heart is yours to forever protect it
