It Don'T Get No Better

Walking down the middle of the road, chewing on a piece of wheat. The sun burning hot on my shoulders, I got no shoes on my feet. A gentle breeze blowing through my hair, cooling down this August heat. Man, life sure can’t get better than this. Running up and down these railroad tracks, to the other side of town. Gonna go meet up with all my friends, so we can just hang around. Spend another lazy summer day, over at the school’s playground. Man, life sure can’t get better than this. Little older and a lot bolder, it’s you I’m going to see. Holding your hand sitting in the park, this is where I want to be. After our first kiss I thought my heart, would explode right out of me. Man, life sure can’t get better than this. A few years more and an Army tour, That’s when you whispered, I do. After some fun in the summer sun, we were three instead of two. Throw a couple more into the mix, Now the six of us will do. Man, life sure can’t get better than this. The days grow older and so do we, there’s no place that we haven’t been. Baby, I would not change a darn thing, if we did it all again. I’ve been there for you and you for me, I’ve loved you through thick and thin. Man, life sure can’t get better than this.

Wow, what a great poetry theme! So relatable with rhyming that makes it all flow. We're blessed with all those 'can't get better than this' moments, indeed.

Thanks, David. Each stage of our lives has things to hold on to and things we should forget. Hopefully the good memories outnumber the bad. Have a wonderful weekend my friend, cause life can't get better than this.
