It Could Be a Song

I know our love is over!
"Too bad we had to part".
I hated that we said good-by.
It really broke my heart.

There is "no need explaining".
There's nothing we can say.
I know this break-up's all my fault.
My lies got in the way!

If only I'd been honest
and admitted that I lied!
But I didn't have the courage to,
"so I hung my head and cried".

If I could "do it over again",
it would never be the same.
I'd give my heart to only you
and you would wear my name!

So sweetheart just remember this
although I was untrue.
Despite my indiscretions
"I'm in love with you"!
