It Comes With a Price

I have always stood up for
Myself and my beliefs.
   I can be your enemy,
Or we can be thick as thieves.

I speak what is on my mind,
I do things my way.
Rarely am I quiet or shy,
I have things to say.

   I will not compromise things
Close to my heart.
   I will fess-up, I will
Own my part.

   I won't be pushed around,
Or change my mind.
   I'm committed and
Loyal to the ties that bind.

I have a lot of energy,
It's hard to douse my flame.
   I'm almost sixty,
Still in the game.

   I face things head-on,
Won't run and hide.
   Face to face,
Our worlds collide.

   I always try to
Play nice.
   Either way, it comes
With a price.
