It Came Today

Remember when we smiled
Hard times were coming someday
But not yet... oh they were there
But not yet...no not yet

Time seemed to fly quickly
And life was mostly good
Trouble was still long ahead
And we enjoyed it while we could

Then it came.
Trouble was not tomorrow
No, it came today
And it is all we thought it would be

Are we strong today
Are we as strong as we said we are
We shall see for this is as hard as it gets
Yes, it came today
