Israel, Israel, oh promised land,
rise above Netanyahu, and take a stand..
Gaza's been blown to a shred.
7,000 Gaze an children are dead.
This militant revenge with it's pelleting sting
has created a Holocaust of suffering..
Netanyahu's actions will cause you more woe.
This incompetent leader needs to go..
It's time to find peace, to negotiate and
stop creating more terrorists in wait..

I know this goes against the grain. But the truth must out: To date, 40% of the '20,000 civilians dead' are actually combatants. This has been consistent over the last three wars with Gaza. Also up to 25% of those killed have been killed by 'friendly fire,' again consistent with past wars. Finally, as proven beyond doubt already, use of hospitals and schools as command and supply centers leads to thousands more innocents killed. So, the REAL TOTAL killed may well be less than 5,000. And this is urban combat, remember. All that said, it's completely justified as well. the Palestinians are the ones trying to commit genocide, not the Israelis. ~ gw

Dear Gershon, I just saw your response recently, so am late in replying . My limited knowledge of the history in this long term conflict is that of aggressive action on both sides and very complicated. It's the human suffering and the aggressiveness of the current Israel leader that motivated me. One can simply voice their opposition to a leader with out taking either side, can't they?

Hi Vijay, It's a pleasure to hear from you and I thank you for visiting my page a few days prior. There's been a lot of personal stressors for me lately (friend's spouse passed, my ex as been unwell, a friend in Vermont had a heart attack, etc.), so things have been worrisome. Also, the external stressors of the suffering in Gaza and Ukraine. God bless and lets pray for a more peaceful 2024.

I think you said it perfectly... sad isnt it.. I feel for the innocent people who have died and those three hostages killed by the IDF when they had white flags... You are right the govt of Israel currently is too right wing, but it is supported by the UK and USA and that gives the free power to do as they wish... sad.. I hope there can be peace in region where there has been nothing but hell..

Your poetic ability never ceases to amaze and delight, Nancy, regardless of the subject matter. If only a more extensive people could surpass the limitations imposed by self-absorbed politicians, there would unquestionably be a significant upheaval in our world. Unfortunately, the current situation is discouraging; however, your eloquent composition and apparent knowledge radiate with brilliance.

Thank you for your kind words but no I am not that well informed. It is an extremely complicated situation with it's long history of conflict and yes quite horrific that the innocent bear the consequences of it.
