Is Three Times A Charm

In my life I've been married but twice
Three times a charm, some old advice

Ten years now, I've been dating another
Twice was enough, said my beloved mother

When my new love said- she wants to marry me
Came words of wisdom, from my brothers three

All three said- "we don't want to burst your bubble,
but if you marry again brother, you're just looking for trouble"

I've been divorced twice, so trouble's my game
If I marry again, it's a good chance, it'll end just the same

Another divorce and another ex-wife
Three times a charm- three wives in my life

One day perhaps, I'll ask her to wed
Maybe when I get the other two wives out of my head

But after ten years of dating my love, somehow
I ask myself, should I ask to marry me now?

But then I ask myself, why should I marry again
Even though this one is a ten

And although a ten is definitely fine
After ten long years, well, now she's a nine

She's now a nine, and that's all dandy and great
But...Oh No! Next year- she could be an eight

As the years pass by, she might become a close five
Hopefully by then, we'll both still be alive

I hope in the end, when its all's said and done
That my wife number three, will be my wife- number one!

what a delightful read! Your words were so personable and humorous. And just so you know, I'm wife #3 to my hubby...and I became his #1. Everyone advised him not to marry, as if he had bad kharma or something...been married 43 years now. have a pleasant evening, Sara

Humorous! I imagine after two divorces that would be hard. My sis in law finally married again.
