the resiliencey of human spirit
the test of a man
the trials and tribulations
written out upon the palms of our hands
once easily fixed, now broken
a heart in pieces on the floor
but the joy we feel in life
keeps us coming back for more
all the pain and sorrow
frought within our head
with the help of loved ones
elation takes it's stead
but when no one is left
to make you feel complete
your soul, your heart
begin to deplete
now I've pushed away my brothers
and replaced their love with fear
but who is there to blame
the answer, my dear, is clear
I've done this to myself
which makes the feeling worse
no one to take the fault
no evil doer which to curse
It's been my choice to be alone
to live solemnly day to day
until I am forgotten
until I fade away
and as my final days approach
it's easier to see
that the only one who can
save me
from me
is me

Hi Lucas.A very strong, profound piece and well written We are all at times our own worst enemy. The trouble is we can't always see it.Your words might get us thinking. And if realisation takes place then that is the beginning of change.I think this is quite philosophical as well as being interesting to read. These are very well chosen words to reach and to teach.I also like their poetic quality as well as your introspection and insight.A favourite for me.Love June
