Is It Spring Yet?

Is it spring yet? I’m not sure, The weather’s playing quite the tour. One day sun, the next, a flake— Can’t trust the forecast for heaven’s sake! The flowers tease with buds so bright, Then hide away at the first cold bite. The birds are singing with delight, But I’m still wrapped in my coat tight! The grass is green, then brown, then gray, As if it can’t decide to stay. I’m longing for warm days ahead, But I’m still wearing socks in bed! So, is it spring yet? Maybe soon, But I’m not betting on it—this afternoon!

Spring, that thing the lean Sun will bring, you shall sing, and you shall be youth shining, only when Spring is your soul's yearning...J.A.B.

Ah, Justin, you always know how to make a season feel like a calling. “Spring is your soul’s yearning”--what a perfect answer to the restless hope in the poem. Your words dance like sunbeams after a stubborn frost. Thank you for bringing warmth and wisdom to the garden of my lines.
