Irises

Van Gogh painted irises That everyone admires. In gardens, very often, They’re the flower that inspires. I, however, am not swayed By any iris charms. To me, they look quite evil, Setting off my brain’s alarms. Though irises have many fans, I’m sure I’m not alone, Which proves that famous saying’s truth – That is, to each his own.

I tend to agree, Ilene... kinda ugly, I would say. To each his own indeed! A super poem with lovely rhyming and flow. Well done! Best wishes, Keith

To each his own, indeed Ilene....Irises have almost always been my favorite flower, considering only their appearance (for perfume, I am partial to night blooming jasmine, gardenias, orange blossoms, and roses.) Along many of Louisiana's rural bayous (where I was born) one may see gorgeous native (wild) irises, and I have one (done in a stained glass hanging) in my dining room. I liked your poem, as always.
