Invitation
A year ago, I’d keep my head down to avoid a conversation
I would stay in my own house, and I wish I could call it “tired.”
Or no motivation.
I learned to be acquainted with society, because I was told, was the real world.
But this didn't stop my organs inside that would pulse louder than drums,
But I still smiled and laughed. I still twirled.
A week ago, I made a friend
But each one unlocked new fears.
Which was surprising, because I thought it would end.
“What if I'm too loud?” fought on one side of my brain
“What if I'm too quiet, and awkward” just on the other lane.
Too lazy, or spinning out
And just crazy.
A day ago, it was all on repeat,
Thoughts written like a fresh new receipt,
Every nightmare, was just another beat,
Of my heart that would race with a new person i would meet,
Today ago, anxiety just beside me on the seat,
Were in the same room, but its still inviting me.
