Invisible

Invisible

I do not seek the Limelight
Nor to play among the stars
I do seek out flashing bulbs
Or to be admired, from afar

But when I go to cross the road
And look, both left and right
I wish the guys in speeding cars
Would slow down and not give me fright

And when I walk into a bar
Full of hope and cheer
I wish it did not take
30 minutes to get a beer

And when I see a pretty girl
And try to catch her eye
I wish she would not look as if
I don’t exist in space and time .
