Invisible

I am a creature of this world,
Though I do not belong;
Not in the pouring rain;
Not in the shining sun

I walk these busy streets,
But I cannot be seen;
Not by the passerby;
Not by the ones I need

I seek but little comfort,
Though I can’t seem to find
A place to call my own –
A refuge for my mind

I would much rather live,
Where I could be of use;
To give a little warmth;
To share a little truth

I fear I am forever doomed
To dwell here on my own;
To have all things surround me,
And be without a home.
