Introspection

Deluded by life over all.
Scratch and climbing at a wall.
Tomorrow, is thought to bring hope again.
Succumb, as today it seems never to end.
Trust shattered, left desolate, withdrawn again.
Death beckons like an old friend.

"don't leave out the butter" made me smile. My father-in-law always requested more butter no matter how much was on the table. A fantastic ending.
