Into the Night

Into the night

      Blows on the wind of mortal birth, as we transcend the night alone,
      Until into darkness escaped no light and shadows bore no age,
      Until what crackles in a fires pit seems cradled in ones embrace,
      Until things born to a simple word fade into the night again;
      Listen to the rustling as the cotton sways, beneath the stars of late,
      Until the breeze brought warm emotion and heartfelt memories;
      Until a sign of feelings blessed makes sweet our passing time,
      Until evening fair leads us into the night again;
      Walk past what’s left of destiny, when our heart’s emotions change,
      Until a breeze moved the silent clouds into the hands of fait,
      Until words are heard at last and through dawn came shafts of light,
      Until a sun in the breadth of morning did chase our moon away
