Into the Heart of Night

It’s that time of night when your consciousness is in the sky.

In the sky, you can let your soaking memories dry.

It feels like the stars are tumbling.

I am passing a storm that is humbling.

But in reality, my body has been seized.

The last part of my sanity went to the breeze.

But this time of night-

It is as if the whole world sees my plight.

And they are cheering for my escape.

But in reality they’d rather my freedom come too late.
