Into the Flow
Beneath my feet the gray squares flow---
Back, where I've been, ahead, where I go.
Flowing beside me, narrowing high,
Rectangular blocks glide through the sky.
Now trucks and cars flow by in pride,
Caressing breezes along my side.
I stop at a light where aims converge
And hear the power and see the surge.
The sunlight is brilliant, it streams and pours;
It laughs down windows, slaps wide doors.
The mind of the city's awake and alive,
And daylight's riding with all who strive.
The signal changes---green---I go,
On with the music, into the flow.
