Into the Dark Night

Love is an emotion we reverence from the start
 We have a predilection  to bask in its light
 Consternation arises when love's fabric is torn apart
 And we are encompassed by apathy and its dark night,
 This feeling of unearthliness is one to dread
 Voices of condemnation are silent instead
 As the fires of discord ignite
