Into the Dark
Silently; I admire the last summer twilight.
From below the horizon light’s glow prevails.
blissful: the feeling of suspension between day and night
There's an eerie pause in onward motion as time stands still.
A flicker of universal stretching of light in full view.
Too soon the sky is replaced with a terrifying hill.
My mind crumbles as dark falls all around.
Shadows descend bringing a crisp, quiet chill.
Weighted down by my silence, I'm upward journey bound.
In a panic I look around but all I see is wall.
Not yet knowing the climb begins with a downward spiral.
Lonely; I embark on my inward fall.
