Into the Crowd

Come spin me now, Mary-go-round
Make sure to hide those thoughts that you found
He came here to see this scary little story
But he found it too boring and burned it all for glory
Now her mind lays in the ashes of yesterdays forgotten sunset
She slips into that madness you'd have to die to forget
Get me off this twisted ride, she says behind two empty eyes
Ocean blue, her favorite shade, died that day among the lies
She's still holding on to the ghosts of her broken past
Trying not to fall to her friends made of tainted glass
They turned their backs when her screams became too loud
So she sank to her knees and surrendered to the passing crowd
When she woke alone, everything still looked the same
Thinking of the truest words "i never conquered, rarely came"
She became he, and everything that's in between
The falling tears unseen reminding her she would never be clean
