Interlude

INTERLUDE

woke up today and the rainbow was gone
a need to dissociate and escape felt strong

numerous thoughts spinning out of control
movements accelerated leaving a dust hole

time to slow down withdraw and retreat
from faces all places swiftly pressing delete

The last two lines gave me that image, and then I re-read the other two couplets, and realized at some point by modern technology, many of us become disassociated although we're really here in comments, text, email whatever, every single day, but that dust hole of reality keeps getting bigger and bigger, more like a whirlwind, or black hole engulfing everything. Your poem may be completely unrelated, but is powerful, giving me new insight to an old problem.
