Integrity
I've never been able to trust, people will be as honest as they can be
No one tells the truth even my brother has forsaken me.
Loyalty or blood no longer means a thing
It doesn't matter if she's wearing a wedding ring.
Not one honest heart left alive
Only with a lie you can survive.
Even tho a bastard I've always been
I try to speak the truth, no matter how mean.
Yes I been a drunk and a cheat but I told them from the start
I made sure they knew before they gave me their heart.
I'm not trying to be anything that I'm not
I'm just giving life my best shot.
With the lies and the secrets, this world is vile
I'd love to leave, even for a little while.
There is but one word we all need to find
Integrity starts within the mind.
The past does not matter so close it's door
Yourself and your loved ones you're doing it for.
Maybe I'm wrong? I really don't know
But what's the point if we don't try to grow.
