Instinct

I am never without my instincts.
My natural womanly possession that
guides me through this life.
I carry them with me everywhere,
locked up tight with no key.

When the world saps my energy,
clouding my creativity and decisions,
I close my eyes and take one minute
to ask my gut.
The answer comes and I am
never sorry.

I've been lead out of danger and
carried to love.
I've followed my dreams.
It is only when I doubt
that I find myself in trouble.

When I fumble through darkness
I am led to the light.
When I feel I am drowning,
I listen to my heart and am able to
breath under water.

I surface again.

this is not only a great poem, but a great attitude as well. I envy you to be this way in your life, Kristen. this poem should do quite well in the contest.
