Notes About The Poem

The restlessness of not able to sleep when you want to. My thoughts go to writing.

Insomniac

The darkness is bright
Despite theres no light
Nothing in sight
Just my eyes desiring
To be sealed tight
In hopes that i might
Be able to sleep tonight
Though it doesnt seem like it
Im still relentlessly trying
Until the point my eyes go dry
Dry enough i cant cry
Just still lying
In bed with my head on the pillow
It never helps to be mellow
Only on nights im walking around
I'll get tired enough i can lay down
Laying in bed til i pass out on a cloud
Fast asleep im bound to dream without sound
Carefree happily
no longer restless
Soon ill be dreaming
and no longer helpless

I remember my insomniac nights. Problems would keep me up at night. You have clever lines that describe the semantics of the title. Well done, Skat

Good write Criss, Not a nice thing to suffer from, but they usually do sleep after many days. And that probably is the best sleep of all!!! Enjoyed this Kevin
