Insomnia and Nostalgia

Each person has a lonely night
Where their mind thinks and wanders
Wishing all night to go to sleep
Yet, all they do is ponder

It causes faith to be lost
When these two things do entwine
Childhood hobbies, now all gone
And only left in the mind

How one wishes to bring it all back
To life where it brings them joy
The summer-break trips and family reunions
Or each Christmas with an awesome new toy

Can it be seen, nowadays
That everyone has these moments
Flashbacks that make them wish once more
To be young, sadly those dreams remain dormant

These restless nights one can endure
Makes the mind and soul grow weak
So many things from the present and past
That are all things they seek

It is not a trip to Istanbul
Or a winning lottery ticket
It is the simple pleasures one has in life
And the memories, that will make it
