Insomnia

Sleepless eyes
Wander through the night,
The empty streets
A hollow chill.

Shadows of passers by
Ghosts of the night,
Un-hearing footsteps
Walking upon my grave...

Awake in my dream
As if there be none...
An open window,
A window never to close...

What wonderful poetry I am reading today and so diverse. I have not read a bad poem yet today. I am enjoying reading each and everyone from old poets and new poets alike. Lots of amazing contest entries also. Thank you for sharing yours with us today Gary. Love, Carol
