Insomnia

It's 6 AM in the morning and I'm wide awake,
Insomnia has been a close friend, and so is heartache.

When I can't sleep I write poems;
they're my anodyne to dull me to sleep,

When I get suffocated
by all the wicked things I keep.

You are so right, Khadidja. Writing is absolutely therapeutic and an excellent path to recovery.

Hi Khadidja: A great poem that relates to many of us. But I quit taking Melatonin and I sleep soundly.

Pandora's box, perhaps? … I don't wish insomnia on anyone, as I myself suffer from the severest kind … Here's to pleasant dreams and to restful, refreshing sleep. ~ Gershon
