Insomnia

It's cold and dark
These endless nights
Knowing he's always there
But never in sight

That persistent monster
I know so well
He is always around
So he never fails

Take pleasure in his
Sick twist of ways
Taking a hit like
A fist to the face

Knocked away from
The sleep that I need
Fighting the bully
That I cannot see

All I know is
That of his name
Blindsided by insomnia
No warning he came

Let's play this game
What he said to me
Though I always win
How it's meant to be

You are the prisoner
I'm the gaurd to your cell
I'll keep you awake
I know your mind so well

So now we walk
Together hand in hand
Becuase I am the slave
To his crooked plan

This is my new strategy
Of how I should fight
Cause one day it's my turn
To sleep a full night
