Insight

What I see is cold and sightless
All I feel is lost inside this
I can’t remember why it left me
The good inside has turned against me

All I am has pulled me under
My frozen god has cast asunder
Everything that got me over
I’m not myself and I’ll never love her

The evidence has failed to save me
All that’s left is denial and envy
I’m on my knees to a blinding vision
The darkness shines and makes me listen

Only disease and never-afters
Only loss and benefactors
Only faiths that want to kill you
An icy breeze that wants to rape you

Only death and diamond shields
Only hate and ashen fields
Only wars with dark intention
Inner lies and blind comprehension

I was never me and never will be
Far too dead to ever be free
This compromise comes from what I need
As I reflect my world and plant the seed
