Innocents

That wave of newness in its grand alarm
felt frightened now as dignity disarmed
and focus becomes challenged, becomes harm
and faith leaves like a culprit seeking charm!

Trapped now, this annihilator's punished arm
breeds violence, while demur and with conform,
what to object to, violation's qualm
has taken up the conscience, with shock's psalm!

I'll pray away misfortune, bend its alms
while all the while, the loss is sinister balm ~
Oh, Lord, the bath be sweet to cleanse, embalm . . .
this killing of my soul, by perverts' ~ calm!

Hi Paula - This is a very deep poem - I just adore the ending of this poem - Very deep reflection of thought - Seems to me you are on the right path by the ending - The Lord can take it all away - God Bless, MJ
