Innocence, Without a Care

The innocence of youth
  of the sweet child
O, that I too could laugh and play
without a care the livelong day

Yet the child wants to be older
sure as I would be younger
Driven mad by our limitations are we all
to reach beyond our ken, tumble and fall

Children grow from six to sixteen before we blink an eye. So true!

Hi Gershon, Good write with much truth. My kids say this all the time. I say when you get older you say the opposite. You wish you were young or want time/clock to slow down. Have a great evening my friend:-) Alexis

We tend to want what we can't have. Part of the frustration of our mortality. ~ Gershon
