Innocence Cries
Each time he smiles
A piece of her dies
There's no one to hear
As innocence cries
She tried to hide
When he had been drinking
She spent all her time
Reflecting and thinking
What had she done
To make things amiss
Why did her daddy
Treat her like this?
Why did mama have to die
And leave her alone?
She was way to young
To be on her own
Only eight years old
He expected too much
She shivered in fear
At the places he'd touch
She couldn't understand
This secret they shared
But who could she tell?
For nobody cared
Each time he smiles
A piece of her dies
There's no one to hear
As innocence cries
