Innerstate

I didn't even know I was lost for I didn't see any sign
Sure I was battered and tossed but I was doing just fine
I seen a few people ahead yet so many others were behind
From life I have never fled that is one thing you will find

But as I began looking around in hearing questions from within
I no longer felt so sound knowing my own margins were so thin
For what else in life was there what else was there left to do
It just didn't seem fair that so many of my emotions weren't true

So I began my own search for what my heart was crying out
I even went back to church but that only added to my doubt
So I took a long and winding walk on a bright sunny day
And with God I had a nice talk and what He said was "just pray"

He said I was never alone in making it to this glorious day
The day His Light had finally shown upon my own inherit way
I still see that bright warm sunshine but now it twinkles in my eye
For everything is just fine in the simple understanding of why
