Inner Voice

The words of that voice I hear, Come to me loud and clear. It cant be from me, it's way too wise. Sometimes a warning, the voice implies. Other times encouragement is what I feel. Words, often soothing and help me heal. My Lord centers me, always forgiving. If I take for granted my peaceful living, The voice will take me down a peg or two. Helps me to be humble and giving too. Sometimes I question this seeming attack, Giving one step forward then taking it back. I know in my heart its just a wake up call, Reminding me that pride goes before a fall. I chat to my voice quite often. Any harsh or mean thoughts, it will soften. Yes I know this voice cant be mine, Its wisdom and love for me is quite divine. When times are good and compassion I lack, It sends a strong wind and pulls me back. When times are hard and seem very tough, The voice gives me strength so I have enough. I cherish this voice as a God given gift. When I need it, it's there to give me a lift. I lead my life trying to make the right choice. I am always so grateful for my inner voice.
