Inner Journey
Please release me from my mind
For its the most amazing journey that I will find
Twists and turns with many highs and lows
But I'm not the driver so onward it goes
Holding on tight, a mere passenger on my way
It's scary at times when there's no words to say
Turn the key, release the locks, take one step at a time
To write it down needs energy, but I will finish this rhyme
Sky blue tiles, snake their way onward down on the floor
They continue for miles through many a corridor
My mind has rooms of colours, shapes and lights
My favourite one has friends running free flying kites
That's just one room amongst many not so boldly grand
Some rooms are tiny with hardly room to stand
I stole across to a beam of light, gentle in its glow
No arrows to direct me though I know the way to go
No drinks for I'm not thirsty, but I long for the taste
For the food of a nation that eats without waste
The spirits here are friendly, very gentle and so wise
They fear not my end of days, when I meet my demise
For I will be greeted by family, lovingly holding out a hand
For they now travel without a watch or timer filled with sand
I believe I will travel through eternity teaching as I go
For life is so fragile, only the close minded will say "no"
It's time I returned back to my body to learn a lesson or two
Also to travel on my journey through out earth, sharing it with you
