Inner Glow

Around the lonely flame in my heart,
This poem will start.
But there is something I know.
I'll never lose my inner glow.

When I feel tired, old and plain,
It suddenly comes to ease my pain.
And then it shines bright,
And again I stand upright

When it looks as if I live in vain,
When there's nothing to want, to gain,
Suddenly it comes again,
And there's no more rain.

Life is a long and dangerous lane,
You must take every train,
You must be careful and very sane,
But the glow is in your heart, not in your brain.
