Infusion

A sense of futility roams my being as intensely
as the sun burns my skin- creating redness in
and out of me - like flames of lost forests - never
to achieve majestic height again - but alas they do

Saplings peer from the earth- spitting their own intensity
daring to be stepped upon - belligerence owned
mocking my own neglect of soul
Growing tall - watching my stance in the face of fiery
maturation as a diamond withstands untold pressures
to achieve it's brilliance - then to sparkle in it's victory
over darkness
So I step to muddy waters - boots of earth's mantle
Feet of diamonds dance the ballet of unencumbered nobility
as the tree of oak- I water my bed with the blood of triumph
