Ooh! You hit the nail on the head here, Sara. (Pun intended). As we learn with the passing of years, you really do 'get what you pay for!' Bullseye! ~ gw

Excellent Sara. It's true when you go with the cheapest bidder you get the cheapest job. You get what you pay for. Love the pic. God Bless, JB

Judy, I enjoyed your comment. I wonder why our people in government jobs don't know this principle. Thanks for stopping and taking time to comment. Sara

Not always easy to pick out the best deal. i always think its best, to look at what as been achieved by the bidder. Great poem Sara, one to think on.

Harry, Well, sometimes the company looks at the whole picture and then choses but most of the time in government the bid goes to the one who will do it for the least amount. Sometimes over here they will only let certain people, companies bid anyway. I appreciate you dropping by. Sara

Victor, Since I am retired I am paid by the same coin. It is not a happy thought. Sara

I am thinking metaphorically on this one and seeing REAL despair indeed.

Andrea, Yes, we have no idea what the future holds but it is not looking good. There have been some road paving going on rural roads here and the company has to come back and tear up whole sections and rework them because something is not right. That is just the surface then there is the money part(taxes) and unless manufacturing is brought back here then what? Sara

Hi Sara, How do you do it? What comes first? The photo or the poem? Either way your poem and picture always compliment each other well. Have a nice day:-) Alexis

Alexis, The poem comes first most of the time. Sometimes I do see a photo or a sentence then comes a poem but mostly a natural scene then I look for a photo that I can match up. I do some photos sometimes less now than in the past but I never could get mine to come on here so I have to always find one. Your visits are encouraging. Sara

Great Haiku, Sara, and very well-said the lowest bidder can't do any better.

Well said! Honolulu's RAIL project is BILLIONS over budget, years from completion, and will NEVER be self-financing. It was always a scam to enrich the contractors who contrived wheels too thin for the rails and other farces at tax-payer expense! Multiply that by 49-other states with corrupt officials!

Jenna, I am wondering if that is what we are getting what we pay for but the sad part is that our posterity will be paying for it for years and years to come. Your visit is appreciated. Sara
