Independence Day

That July
my red kite
touched blue sky

In noon’s sunlight
behind the kite
there drifted clouds
of fluffy white

A patriotic
painting I did see:
red kite flying free -
white wisps floating through
sky's glorious blue

Patriotic images in poetry like this and references to our flag make me smile. You express patriotism with subtlety and gentleness that is very appealing. Now this is how to wave a flag.

I am not very patriotic any more because of all the corruption here but I am trying to be respectful of those who died defending our freedoms
