In Your Shoes

My poems always sound good to me
My aspect on the things I see
But when spoke from another’s mouth
The whole intent sometimes goes south

If I could only find a way
To hear my words like they would say
Then my meaning I may not lose
By putting myself in their shoes

I still can say what I want to
While I’m pretending to be you
So then, when it’s over and done
My poems will work for everyone
