In Your Arms
I listened to the soft refrain
of an aching country song
carrying me back in time again
to images of you and me now gone;
if only time could go back
allow us to recognize our mistakes
but here we are living only in flashbacks
of the paths, we made to life's heartbreaks.
If only time could let us return
reveal this fading memory in bold alarms
with these lessons now well learned
and you can hold me close, forever in your arms.
