In You
As a child I always wanted...something
happiness, courage, strength
that smile that eluded me for so long
something if not nothing,
as I grew I knew somethings out there
my anger, my pain, my remorse for living
but I knew...this isn't why I was here
and I don't know why but it was clear
through all the adversity I've been through
all the pain if I just believed and I believed
tomorrow is another day and that some thing
I found in you
my every thing at the end of the rain bow
my just for my tenacity my reason
at first sight in lust, in your touch I didn't see
and I can't say just when or how I now know
but my smile, my heart, even this soul
my zest for life when I should of gave up
my belief in a happy ending and love true love
I found it all, I found it in you
in your eyes that see no fault for who I am
in your arms that hold me as if I did no wrong
in your kiss that washes it all away
in you I found who I am
so much could be said about what love is
what one would do or say to show or fill
how so many long for, abuse, and take for granted
a wish even a promise
I wished upon a star, wished every birthday
I waited and wanted looked and searched
and I found it I found it in you
my love for always and today.
