In Words of Art
Let me explain in words of art.
Open the mind to a-maze-ing ideas.
Coloring books for lives.
Blank pages to fill in.
Conspiring or inspiring concoctions.
Stirring with a paintbrush
colors of bright and dull.
Puzzles that are riddles, me here
pieces collage of phobias
hiding beneath ink
physically and mentally.
Questioning,
without question marks!
Don't ask them, won't understand
hieroglyphs, speaking and writing,
in what must be Aramaic?
With tags on,
like bodies in a morgue,
labeled to your disliking or approval.
Drink embalming fluid.
Can't catch fire, to weak.
Maybe paint thinner?
More chemicals,
mixing colors in the brain,
color me a rainbow of skin,
to wrap around like a blanket
to suffocate with,
or hide in safety?
Can't figure it out?
Back to the table.
Breaking crayons, markers dry up,
spilling the water.
Pick a new coloring book.
So many on the shelves.
Which book is best for you?
A coloring book for the soul perhaps?
How do you color?
