In Time

I have seen the world through tainted lens
And I have watched the clouds as they flit by
Yes, I have known the world for what it is
An outward-breathing, endless, dying sigh

And I have watched as all things pass
As man and woman walk still down to death
And I have watched, forgotten past
As life and lie both know their ending breath

Ah, the world! Oh, the world!
Product of a fading wave
Ah, the world! Oh, the world!
Lost at sea, forever staved!

Frozen, I have watched the past
Become the future yet once more
Lost, 'thas wandered on the path
Only to rebound off the shore

Ah, I have watched the world outside of time
I've seen the movement, ceased, all life gone terse,
No more, that movement gone, that wave, sublime
Has crashed to the infinite shore, dispersed
