In This Oppressive Season
Magnolia bloom pale
white like moonlight
hurricane shutters creek
a sultry night wanes
restless sleep
ceiling fans beat
quiet absent rhythm
a soft breeze
I lay awake watching
the moon rays creep
across a barren wood floor
finding its way to the corner
I cannot silence my restlessness
Troubled is my sleep
as the moon glows softens
A silhouettes leaves
Sliver silence soft in its wake
always falling across the door
the beat of the fan the rhythmic
tattoo of tic tac rattle n hmmm
magnolia blooms like moonbows
as dust drifts spinning falling across
covers the floor reflexs ghosts
In my sleep
the mantle white
the dust thick silence in the heat
drift across
fallen were it reeks
twelve of the clock
all alone in the house
Silent in this oppressive season
restlessness in my dreams
Of magnolias drifting in memory
Throughs of imagery faded photographs
loom at the passing of the moon
as Magnolia bloom pale
white like moonlight across
hurricane shutters
Screen doors creek
a sultry night wanes
As a moon in silence waxes
restless is my sleep
Listening to the ceiling fans beat
quiet absent rhythms
soft breezes drift
wile I lay awake
watching
