In This Lifetime
Some people are given to us for a reason
They stay for a while, maybe a season.
Lots will leave with just an airy good-bye
Others will stay, and with us, they'll cry.
The ones who stay leave footprints on our hearts
They treasure little friendships that never grow apart.
Though they only show up from time to time,
I'm happy to say that you're here and you're mine.
In this lifetime, I've met good friends, however few,
But I've never met anyone quite like you.
