In the Still of the Night Dwm

Dance tonightl at the all girls Catholic high school. Come on join us tonight, we are all looking cool, New leather saddle shoes, bright, white ankle socks. Hair high in a pony tails with satin ribbons, we were ready to rock. Jackie's pink Angora sweater, soft as a baby kitten. How she longed for Tommy across the dance floor, with whom she so was deeply smitten! The nuns were on the sidelines to be sure nobody did not dance too close. The music began and all hearts to the ceiling, mightily rose. Tommy was coming toward her, his cheeks all blushing, a gorgeous shade of rose. Jackie jumped up in that twirly gray poodle skirt, heart pounding like a gigantic firehouse. The gym was not dark or romantic in anyway. After all, the priests and nuns were there to be sure their bodies, did not close- in any sensous way. "In the Still of the Night," by the Satins, was the love song of the night. "Hound Dog" by Elvis, put the nuns into a state of religious fright. The boys were perfect gentlemen and oh,so sugar sweet. The girls found them delightful, more than the best filled, confectionary treat. All too soon, this dashing dance evening did end... Some went home with parents, but the luckier girls went in '56 Chevy Bel-Air ragtops, a most popular trend. March 9, 2020 Kim Rodrigues Dance Contest DWM ~ Placed Second ~ Thank you, Kim!

Ohh wow Panagiota that was such a wonderful walk down memory lane, when boys were gentleman and all was sweet and innocent. It was delightful to read my friend - thankyou and sending you congratulations on your well deserved 2md place. Hoping you are well. With kindest thoughts Ann xx

Glad you enjoyed that sweet walk with me into my high school gym. Ah, the days of Angora sweaters, First kisses and well mannered boys and girls. I wish there were a time machine...I'd go right now! P.S, I refuse to be sick. Thanks, Ann Panagiota xx

Sonia, thank you, those dances were special. I was just remembering~ we were not allowed to wear brash or crass nail polish at all. Just natural or light pink. The Domimican nuns and Jesuit priests kept us in tow. The dances were heavenly sweet. loved your visit, your Pioem and your style! Panagiota xx

Thank God for those nuns and Jesuit priests. Today anything goes and free condoms for all. Totally ridiculous. Weere no teenage pregnancies in HS, nor short skirts, no abortions. We came to school to learn. Was not a playground for sex. Love, Panagiota xx

Kim said....it does not have to be a bio. So you can take it from there.))) I just thought I would try this contest.Kind of hard since age groups here differ, not everyone had the same schooling background plus there are so many nations writing who may not know the music mentioned. However, you did get the sense of those Times. Long before pot, "blow" and decades prior to Ludicrous twerking generation. I am glad you got it and commented. Panagiota xx PS few knew who Roger Ebert was either.
