In the Still of the Night
How still the night, while we sleep
Black velvet clouds, dense and deep.
When stars shine like diamonds in the sky,
While under counterpanes, we lie.
Breathtaking beauty surrounds,
Magic in the air abounds.
Everywhere seems calm and still,
Peace, quiet, my cup fulfil.
I thank God as I sleep tight,
For the stillness of the night.
